Globovision Wins Monsigñor Pellin Award
The Venezuelan Episcopal Conference awarded the television station Globovision with the Monsignor Pellin Award 2017 for TV Channel of the Year.
The announcement was made by the Venezuelan Episcopal Conference [CVE by its acronym in Spanish] Secretary – General, Monsignor Victor Hugo Basabe, and the executive director of the Social Communications Media of the organization, Father Pablo Aguilar, who also presented the other 25 winners of this award, which this year is under the premise of “Communicate Hope and Trust in Our Times.”
Globovision is also proud of the station’s five journalists that are also receiving an award from this recognition to the journalist efforts.
Specifically, Maryelis Hernandez, and Fabiana Ortega were awarded with the “TV Show of the Year” award by “Journalists: Virgin of the Valley, and Virgin of Coromoto, Marian Devotion in Our Country”; Macky Arenas was awarded with “TV Character of the Year”; Maria Iginia Silva with “TV Journalist of The Year”, and Daniel Diaz Vizzi had an special mention to a microreport about Francisco, the Pope.
The target of these awards is to recognize the “effort of these men and women that are committed to transmit truth, principles, and to be next to the Venezuelan people in this difficult time, and to not give up on their work as journalists or on communicating in our country, even if the circumstances are difficult”, emphasized Monsignor Basabe.
“Media world – added the prelate- feels a little bit orphan regarding the recognition of their work. This is why CEV decided to bring again the awards that had 12 years without being celebrated.”
The award ceremony shall take place at Andres Bello Catholic University on Wednesday, October 18th.
